4th of July Fireworks Safety

With Independence Day just around the corner, you’re likely looking forward to seeing or using fireworks. Before you begin your celebrations, be sure to read through and understand the following safety tips:
  • Obey all local laws.
  • A responsible adult should supervise children using sparklers or other types of handheld fireworks.
  • Use ALL fireworks outdoors and at a safe distance from your home’s exterior.
  • Do not “experiment” or mix fireworks together.
  • Light only one firework at a time.
  • Shoot fireworks away from people and your home in a safe direction.
  • Wear protective eye gear when igniting and using fireworks which shoot off.
  • Don’t relight a “dud” firework.
  • Never drink and play with fireworks.
  • Dispose of your used fireworks by first wetting them down and then disposing them in a can away from materials which may be combustible.
