Wi-Fi Thermostats Help You to See if Your Heater is Working

We live in an amazing time – your home’s heating system can be turned on or off, up or down, with an app on your smartphone if a Wi-Fi smart thermostat is installed in your home. This means that you can monitor your heater from work, the store, or wherever you may be on-the-go. While this is great when everything is running smoothly, what happens when there’s an issue with your home’s heating system?

If you have a smart thermostat installed, it likely has the ability to provide you with a notification if something is amiss with your heating system. These messages are warning signs that all may not be well with your heater, and you may be in the cold if you don’t get the problem taken care of quickly.

What do I do if I receive a notification from my Wi-Fi thermostat app?

Don’t panic! You’ll likely be given a link to a guide for troubleshooting tips or a phone number to dial for assistance.

If you want to see if there is a simple fix for the issue, the first thing to do is check your furnace filter. If it’s dirty or clogged, it may be preventing proper air flow. Once your new filter is in place, check to see if the furnace runs normally.

If you are still having a problem when trying to run your furnace, it may be time to call in a heating professional.
